As the dust settles from Karbach's recent ownership shake-up, the popular Houston brewer is moving forward with expansions to its existing facility. The new building is being designed by Method Architecture, built by Benchmark Houston Builders and consists of 8,200 SF of office space and a 43,800 SF warehouse.

The two-story, concrete tilt-wall building will house both administration and operations. Included in the warehouse is 23,260 SF that will house dry storage goods and add to the keg-filling line. New barrel aging space totaling 6,752 SF will increase Karbach’s current capacity of barrel-aged beer and build towards the future goal of having the capacity to age up to 3,000 barrels at a time. The remainder of the space includes an 11,200 SF cooler for products waiting to be shipped out and a 1,400 SF filler room. Plans include moving Karbach’s canning operation into this space as well.

One of Karbach’s founders, Chuck Robertson, said, “Our recent partnership announcement with Anheuser-Busch and The High End business unit will enhance our ability to brew the craft beer our fans in Texas love. This expansion project will ensure we have the space and resources needed to continue innovating.”

The project broke ground in October and is expected to be completed summer 2017.
