Levcor will redevelop Post Oak Plaza, a 137K SF retail center located at the intersection of Post Oak Boulevard and San Felipe Road in Uptown Houston.

New tenant construction is already underway, and redevelopment plans will be rolled out in multiple phases through 2022, beginning with modernizing the aesthetics of the buildings and storefronts.

The new facades will incorporate a mixture of wood, glass, stucco and stone materials, and feature new lighting elements to accentuate the architecture.

“Post Oak Plaza is situated at one of the busiest and most visible corners in the city of Houston. Modernizing the aesthetic and introducing new retail and restaurant partners helps us bring in-demand concepts to Uptown Houston and to the doorsteps of our customers,” Levcor Senior Vice President Justin Levine told Bisnow.

Levcor acquired Post Oak Plaza in 2004. The company confirmed that although the site will be redeveloped, the square footage of the structure will not change.

As part of the redevelopment, Levcor will introduce community gathering locations throughout the common areas, and will also incorporate an extensive landscaping plan that includes trees, enhanced hardscape, which can include elements such as patios and water features, and flower beds. There are also plans for widened pathways to enhance building connectivity and safety.

Recently announced restaurant partners opening at Post Oak Plaza include Kenny & Ziggy’s, Maragume Udon and il Bracco, an upscale Italian eatery.

While redevelopment is being completed, all retailers, restaurants and services at Post Oak Plaza will remain open. Shop Cos. will lead leasing efforts during Post Oak Plaza’s redevelopment.

Uptown Houston, the organization that oversees the area, has made significant improvements to public transportation and pedestrian access along Post Oak Boulevard in recent years. The Post Oak Boulevard project, which broke ground in 2017, involved relocating buses to dedicated express lanes, expanding sidewalks and adding trees.

In February, Levcor announced similar plans to redevelop the 350K SF MarqE Entertainment Center in Spring Branch East, including updates to existing storefronts, extensive landscaping and the construction of a new building for both office and retail tenants.
