A knight comes to a castle where his love is trapped. It's surrounded by a square moat that is 10 feet wide. The knight is able to fashion two 9 foot long planks to cross the moat. How can he do this? Anchor Commercial Real Estate’s Rob Giesecke was the first to breach the walls of this one: He places one plank diagonally across a corner, then lays one end of the remaining plank on top of and at a right angle to the first. The other end of the second plank will then reach to the opposite side of the moat. (There’s a reason moats are usually circular.)

We don't know what they've got in the water at CBRE, but we also got some really creative answers from them. Senior associate John Papini sent the picture above to illustrate his solution: The knight puts the planks along the corners of the square, the first a few feet out, and the second a few more feet out. Then he steps across them. (Bonus: The horse gets to stay behind on this one and enjoy a clover break.) And director of leasing James Froelich offered up two solutions: pole vaulting with the planks or using them as stilts. (Although our poor knight is out of luck if the moat is too deep.)
