Lally Pipe & Tube (a division of LB Industries) purchased 46 acres on Sam Houston Tollway E between Tidwell and Old Beaumont Highway. (Now there's enough room for pipes and tubes to live comfortably together.) Avison Young principal Lee Jones repped the buyer and tells us the deal was actually two tracts of land (one 25 acres, one 21) with two different sellers that closed simultaneously with different title companies. One of the tracts closed only 14 days after it was escrowed, leaving little time to obtain a new survey and feasibility studies. (He thanks Weisser Engineering and Stewart Title for being so quick.) Lee tells us he has a few more big land deals in his pipeline but is closed-lipped on the details.
