The co-working space concept has become so sophisticated now that the creators of local co-working space Industry and Battery 621 are rolling out a development specifically for health-tech companies: Stride, whose first phase will be 115k SF.
Stride president Mike Biselli tells us that the development will be fully devoted to healthcare innovation, including digital health tech, wearable tech, and smart devices. There will be also healthcare providers, venture capitalists, and software coding specialists among its tenants. The goal of the property is to be a “vertically aligned ecosystem” for the health tech industry. The demand for this kind of space is there: Colorado’s a strong market for healthcare tech, Mike explains, as one of the top 10 digital health tech clusters in the nation. “We’ve identified 106 digital health startups in the state of Colorado,” he says.
Mike, who has an extensive background in healthcare tech, came on earlier this year to lead Stride, a development of Jason and Ellen Winkler. Their first project in Denver was Battery 621, which is dedicated to the outdoor industry. More recently, they developed Industry, a property dedicated to creative tech, such as Uber (the car sharing program), and tech and creative staffing specialist BW Bacon (Dave Bacon, pictured). The site for Stride, which will near the intersection of Brighton Blvd and 38th Ave, is currently a warehouse. After a combination of new building and adaptive reuse, the first phase will be ready for tenants in fall '15.
