SkyHouse Wants to Keep Those Millennials Happy

SkyHouse Denver, which broke ground this week in the CBD, is betting Millennials will keep wanting to live in urban centers near public transit. Given their behavior so far, it's a pretty good bet.

Denver's strong economy and growing Downtown residential market add up to strong momentum for leasing the 26-story luxury high-rise, Novare Group CEO Jim Borders tells us. The Atlanta-based developer has been eying Denver for several years, Jim says, and believes that this is the right location, adding that the building is targeting "next-generation professionals" who prefer the city. Novare's development partners in the deal are Simpson Housing and Batson-Cook Development Co.

SkyHouse Denver will feature 354 apartment units and 6,900 SF of street-level retail space. The SkyHouse on the top floor—which is the signature of the various developments of that brand—will include a club room, swimming pool and fitness center. The Denver property is the 14th SkyHouse-branded property by Novare, following projects in Texas, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. The development's slated for a mid-2016 completion.
