Sky Hotel in Aspen isn't going to be redeveloped into the W Aspen hotel this year as planned, which would have involved closing the property next month and reopening for the next ski season.
Rather, Northridge Capital and Sarpa Development have agreed to keep the property open for another year to ensure there's enough lodging for the men's and women's World Cup ski finals in Aspen, which will be March 15-19, 2017, the Denver Post reports. The developers have already received city approval to redevelop the longtime lodge at the base of the Aspen ski area. [Post]
