The home of the Telecom Corridor, the University of Texas at Dallas and CityLine has a new plan to bring young professionals to the burbs.

Last week, Richardson EDP launched a new campaign called the Richardson Young Professionals Talent Attraction Campaign to show off the city’s plentiful job market, affordable single-family and multifamily homes, cultural attractions and restaurant scene. Richardson EDP’s Jenny Mizutowicz tells us Richardson has many live/work/play amenities for young professionals, but Millennials either don’t know all their options, or they have stigmas about living in the suburbs. This campaign aims to change those problems.

Through a new website, potential residents and workers can explore basic data about Richardson’s live/work/play culture. The website shows average apartment rent in the city is $1,052 and the average home price is $232k.

Along with a list of the city’s top employers, the site directs job seekers to a list of available positions in the Telecom Corridor and elsewhere in the city.

The initiative also includes a handful of marketing videos to educate potential residents and employees about opportunities, entertainment and food attractions.

“We want to show young professionals that Richardson has metro living without the compromise,” Jenny tells us.
