Check out this cool pic of Plant Scherer near Macon, which is partly owned by Oglethorpe Power. Oglethorpe plans to construct a new $750 million natural-gas-powered "combined-cycle" generating facility in Georgia to help meet growing demand. The big question (at least for us): Where? The final location for the project is TBD, the company says. However, land already owned by Oglethorpe in Monroe County, as well as several other sites, will be considered. In the meantime, here's a challenge for you: Say ?power plant planned?three times fast.
