Beck Ventures' Scott Beck tells Bisnow that Dallas Midtown should get its final approval by the city council next week. Plans have been developing for years, and Scott has a long-term (like 30 years) vision. The 430-acre mixed-use redevelopment of Valley View Mall may get started as early as later this year, the Dallas Morning News reports. There's also some efforts by a city councilman to add an Automated People Mover (think SkyLink at DFW Airport) as the development arrives. That is in its infancy, as funds have been requested from the North Texas Council of Governments to study the feasibility. [DMN]
