Ceremonial shovels were out on Tuesday as Rosewood Property Co broke ground on its 156-acre Heritage Creekside mixed-use development near the intersection of Central Expressway and President George Bush Turnpike in Plano. The project will include multifamily units, single-family townhomes, 2.3M SF of office space, a hotel, and 50k SF of retail and restaurants. Among those playing in the dirt are Carbon Thompson’s Tom Fields, city councilman Andre Davidson, city manager Bruce Glasscock, Mayor Pro Tem Lissa Smith, Rosewood President Bill Flaherty, Jim McGrath (past president Pitman Estates HOA), Carbon Thompson’s Ed Garahan, Robert Miller (president of Dallas North HOA) and city councilman Jim Duggan.
The initial phase of the project will feature 327 multifamily units built by Carbon Thompson and approximately 100 single-family units, slated for completion in summer 2016. The first phase will also include three restaurant sites on the east side of the property along Alma Road. Heritage Creekside has received approval for up to 1,300 multifamily units and several hundred single-family townhouses and homes. In partnership with Carbon Thompson, Rosewood’s development plans have been led by Gateway Planning Group and Bury.
