The transformation of Arlington’s Globe Life Park continued earlier this week with the opening of Spark Arlington, a business incubator for startups and entrepreneurs.

The 30K SF, two-level coworking space includes 61 private offices and 17 suites, according to a news release. The facility is housed within the 200K SF repurposed Choctaw Stadium, which transitioned to a commercial and retail venue in 2019.

The project is part of a larger collaboration between The Cordish Cos. and the Texas Rangers, which will bring $1B of new development into Arlington’s Entertainment District. Other developments underway include the Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center, National Medal of Honor Museum and One Rangers Way apartment community.

"The opening of Spark Arlington represents a major step in the growth of collaborative business enterprise in the Entertainment District," Texas Rangers Managing Partner and majority owner Ray Davis said in a statement. "It is also another example of how Choctaw Stadium has been successfully repurposed to be a vital part of the development in this area.”

Spark Arlington joins Six Flags Entertainment Corp., which moved its headquarters to the repurposed stadium in 2020, as well as the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Twenty-three companies spanning a gamut of industries signed up as inaugural members at the Arlington location of Spark Coworking, which was founded in Baltimore in 2016, per the release.

"Our economy is strong here in Arlington, and opportunities for economic prosperity and job growth for our residents will only grow stronger when small business owners and entrepreneurs have the environment to flourish,” Arlington Mayor Jim Ross said in a statement.
