Twenty-five percent of AMLI Residential's DFW residents are dog owners, EVP Taylor Bowen said at this morning's fifth annual Bisnow DFW Multifamily Summit. That's changing the way local developers design their projects. (Using paint that smells like snausages?)
Here's IPA Texas director Drew Kile, Milestone Apartments REIT COO Steve Lamberti, Behringer CIO of multifamily funds Bob Poynter, Embrey EVP John Kirk, and Taylor. Drew says that people are willing to pay extra for their pets; he jokes you can get rid of playgrounds on multifamily properties and put in dog parks instead. (Kids don't need playgrounds anymore, they have iPads.)
