Looking ready to sign some autographs, KAI Texas  President/COO Darren L. James displays the latest design in his current project, the DISD Wilmer-Hutchins Elementary School, which he’ll complete in December. Darren said he enjoys providing learning spaces for children. A book-lover, reading fills much of his spare time. Favorite author: it’s a battle between David Baldacci or Walter Mosley. The intrigue keeps him glued to the pages.

Darren stopped in to offer ideas to KAI staffers Andrew Herrell,Chuck KushMark Bartlett of Jaster-Quintanilla, John Cahill, and Doug Rothermel (also of JQ) going over Wilmer-Hutchins designs. KAI has also had its hands in the DART Green Line and the Blue Line. In the design, construction management, and quality control, that is. When not working on the rail, Chuck's on the lookout for a 1960s or 1970s Triumph or Norton motorcycle.
