State Of The Capital Stack

We'll cover the latest hot capital stack topics, from crowdfunding to the evolution of value-add, tomorrow at Bisnow's special summit, The Capital Stack - What's Next? (We're also thinking of opening a pancake restaurant called The Capital Stack.) Here's a first look:

Our 12-person lineup includes industry icons like The Prime Group's Mike Reschke (above) and Laramar Group's Jeff Elowe, along with splashy young guns like Eastdil Secured's David Knapp and Loquidity's Jesse Clem. (Now that we think about it, The Capital Stack would also be a great softball team name for this all-star talent.) Zeller Realty Group chairman and founder Paul Zeller, another panelist, will give insight on the influx of foreign capital into Chicago real estate and discuss ZRG's recent acquisition of 311 S Wacker Dr with Chinese capital new to the City.

He also might discuss his favorite movies, since this week kicks off the first-ever (and free) ZRG Film Festival, with seating for 500 at 401 N Michigan Ave's Pioneer Court. Bringing art to the public isn’t new for Paul Zeller, who’s always thought real estate is about creating a conversation. He calls Pioneer Court, one of the few privately owned plazas in the City, the firm’s “little art gallery” (Little? We seem to recall a 26-foot statue of Marilyn Monroe) and hopes its offerings compel passersby to take a pause, enjoy, and reflect. The festival lineup, on the city's largest outdoor screen (above): The Blues Brothers; Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Untouchables; Cinema Paradiso; and The Dark Knight. We'll start making popcorn now. Meantime, we'd love to see you tomorrow at Bisnow's special summit, The Capital Stack - What's Next?
