Fitness-Focused Hotel Coming to Loop

Developer Paul Beitler, better known for developing office projects, is jumping into the crowded hotel pipeline. Beitler wants to build a 175-room Even Hotel at 181 N Clark St and is seeking financing.

Even, a brand launched by InterContinental Hotels Group, is geared toward fitness-focused travelers who want to maintain their wellness while traveling. Rooms are outfitted with fitness gear, fiber bedding, eco-friendly bath products and healthy eating choices. Beitler's Even hotel would be built atop a parking structure, Crain's reports.

The Even hotel isn't the only hospitality project Beitler has in the works. He also wants to build a dual-branded, 400-room hotel at Congress and Wells in the South Loop. The project would include a Holiday Inn Express and a Staybridge Suites, and would cost $93M. [Crain's]
