Invenergy, SunEdison Agree to $2B Wind Farm Deal

Chicago-based Invenergy has reason to smile after agreeing to a $2B sale of seven wind farms in the US and Canada to TerraForma, a subsidiary of SunEdison. The farms produce a combined 930 megawatts and sell their output under long-term contracts. Invenergy will continue to run the farms and retain a 9.9% stake, according to Crain's. Invenergy CEO Michael Polsky says the increased demand for wind energy is growing and the sale of the farms is the best way to raise capital for investment purposes. [Crain's]
