Lucid Bots, a Charlotte-based robotics company, has signed a lease to relocate its headquarters within the city, the Charlotte Business Journal reported.

The new 45K SF facility, located at 9013 Perimeter Woods Drive, is double the size of the company’s current 22,500 SF headquarters on Northpark Boulevard.
The company, which makes commercial robots and drones for cleaning the exterior of buildings, reportedly plans to move offices in December.
Lucid Bots, which has 80 employees, has seen an increase in demand and was running out of space at its original location, CBJ reported. The move will help the company expand its product portfolio.
Half of the new building will be office space, and half will be warehouse space. The building has a product testing area, space for events and parking.
CBRE’s John Christenbury brokered the lease for Lucid Bots, while Trinity Partners’ Bill Wood represented the property.
Lucid Bots had secured $20M in March in a Series B funding round as it worked to find a new location for its headquarters. The company had many offers to relocate to a different city but ultimately chose to remain local.
“We just realized Charlotte was a great place to plant the initial seed, and it's been a great place to grow up,” Lucid Bots founder and CEO Andrew Ashur told CBJ. “Now this next chapter of our company is really around scale, and it's a great place for us to scale, too.”
Charlotte’s office market saw strong leasing activity in the second quarter, exceeding 1.2M SF, according to a CBRE report.
The market is largely led by the financial services industry, with big-name banking firms flocking to the city to establish presences there. Capital Group announced in March that it is opening an East Coast operations hub uptown, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking announced in May that it subleased 200K SF of office space at 301 S. College St. for its second U.S. headquarters, which it plans to move into this fall.
