Marcus Partners is hiring an Alexandria Real Estate Equities veteran to guide its Seaport life sciences project.

Danielle McLaughlin Blake has been hired as Marcus Partners' vice president of development in Boston, the company announced Tuesday. The former Alexandria vice president of Greater Boston real estate development and construction will helm Marcus Partners’ 310 Northern Ave. development in the Seaport.

“I am thrilled to join the Marcus Partners’ development team — particularly as the firm’s development pipeline is accelerating,” Blake said in a statement.

While at life sciences giant Alexandria, Blake worked on new development and repositioning including the firm’s 431K SF 100 Binney St. in Kendall Square. Blake has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience including stints at JLL, project management firm Northstar and Alexandria, which she joined in 2018, according to her LinkedIn profile. She’s a graduate of Babson College in Wellesley.

Marcus Partners in June filed plans for a 742K SF life sciences campus at 310 Northern Ave. in the Seaport’s Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park, adjacent to the Harpoon Brewery. The two-building development will replace a seafood processing plant; the firm has agreed to pay $20M to help relocate the seafood companies.

“We are thrilled that Danielle will be leading 310 Northern Avenue and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with the South Boston Waterfront and Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park community, city, state and numerous other stakeholders as we advance our plans,” Marcus Partners’ principal Levi Reilly said in a statement.

The firm is among the busiest developers in the Seaport, an emerging life sciences cluster. Marcus Partners late last year purchased a former Au Bon Pain corporate office for $25M, which it plans to convert into a new life sciences campus. The site will be home to biotech Ginkgo Bioworks, which last week announced it will occupy the full 219K SF building.
