In another high-profile healthcare job, Walsh Brothers announced on Friday that it won the contract to manage the construction of Children's Hospital's $170M, 110k SF addition in the LMA, designed by Payette. The new 10-story structure, slated for completion in summer '13, presents many complexities. The footprint, a mere 7,000 SF, leaves little room for staging and the glass-clad addition must seamlessly connect to eight existing floors of the hospital. Of course, all the work in this tight space must be done without impinging on its many hospital neighbors.
