| Ventas recently rang the NYSE closing bell after being named ?Top Financial of the Decade.? It's well-positioned to continue, says CEO Debra Cafaro, here with president Raymond Lewis. Once the seniors housing REIT completes its $3.1B acquisition of Atria Senior Living Group, it will be the largest owner of private-paid seniors housing, she says. Meanwhile, the over-85 set is growing the fastest while the housing supply is limited and Baby Boomers are pushing for low-cost outpatient settings. In the long run, Ventas predicts it will benefit from healthcare reform and expects its purchase this year of Atria and integration of Lillibridge Healthcare Services will allow it to further grow its platform. |
