| We snapped Bierbrier Development's Len Bierbrier at a recent REFA breakfast. He's actively seeking property to develop transit-oriented mixed-use projects inside or near Rt. 128. He's negotiating to acquire a four-acre site near an MBTA stop in an affluent suburb to build office, retail and residential space. He's close to acquiring an 80k SF building on five acres, which he will demolish to build a 50k SF retail center. He says this is the time to go through permitting because the stakeholders are more responsive. Len sees construction starting in 2011 when the economy is more robust and financing and tenant interest stronger. |
