How often do you find scores of Boston's top deal makers sipping cocktails by candlelight, offering each other tips to get ahead?
We found about 100 of them, including one of the first New England Women in Real Estate presidents Marilyn Schwartz Lloyd (?86 to ?89). She says thanks to the group, which celebrated its 30th anniversaryThursday night at the Exchange Conference Center, when she's involved in CRE deals she isn't the only woman in the room anymore. The former head of economic development for the City of Boston is now president of MASCO, which reps academic and scientific groups in the Longwood Medical Area. She tells us the the LMA is popping with eight development projects under way.
There were several NEWiRE presidents onhand: former president of Fidelity Real Estate Sarah Abrams and Nutter McClennan & Fish?s Marianne Ajemian, and current NEWiRE president BayNorth Capital's Janet Pirrello. Sarah says it's a good sign that there were as many NEWiRE newbees present as old guard.
