| Anyone who's not on vacation is probably in town partying, or ought to be, or wants to be. A few CRE festivities we came upon: a cocktail fete on a downtown roof deck; a Friday night art opening featuring one of the real estate industry?s own celebs; and a black tie awards ceremony. |
| We snapped Nelson/Black Cow?s Brad Black, Nickerson PR?s Lisa Nickerson and Synergy Investment?s James Grady on Thursday, sipping and mingling on the Splash roof deck in the Leather District. (One wonders if underperforming Black Cow members get turned into the leather that gives the area its name.) Not that Brad and his Cows need an excuse to enjoy a cocktail of the season, but they were marking the one-year anniversary of the merger of their interiors practice with Nelson. Brad?s team is also working with Synergy at 101 Summer St., 100 Franklin St., and 10 Fawcett St. in Cambridge. James, meanwhile, says Synergy?s 1M SF portfolio in Boston and Cambridge is 96% leased, mostly with professional, sales, or professional service firms. It recently purchased 101 Summer St. and signed a 10.5K SF lease with Louison Costello Condon & Pfaff. |
| Howard Thompson and Michael and Sandy Mulkern took a moment out of their reverie to fill us in. Howard has good reason to celebrate, too: On Aug. 16, he starts a new job with TRO/Jung Brannen, leading its interiors team to work with national clients like Microsoft. He just left Spagnolo Gisness & Associates and will spend some down time visiting family and friends in Texas. Sandy, who manages architectural services in the NE for USG, is finalizing the details for the construction of the 1M SF World Trade Center One (aka the Freedom Tower). |
