| Ok, the Chinese may move fast but in Fresh Pond, Cambridge, Oaktree Development broke ground in March on 56 units of market rate housing that will be ready for occupancy before summer ends.Yesterday, we snapped the New Street site where pre -fabricated boxes will arrive from Maine to be assembled, explained Oaktree?s Gwen Noyes. The units are geared for young people who want to be near Danehy Park, Fresh Pond Reservoir, and the Alewife T. Once finished, Gwen and her colleagues will decide if it will be condos (at about $450k for a 2B, 2B) or rental (at about $2,200). She says, ?We'll decide fish or fowl based on the feedback we get.? |
