| US Gypsum?s Boston-based Sandy Mulkern, right, who we snapped at a summer fete, takes a break once in a while since she has lots of serious work to do. She's part of the team supplying USG?s trademark Sheetrock wallboard for the 1,776-foot-tall One World Trade Center, set to be the tallest structure in the Western hemisphere. By Q1 2011, as steel continues to rise on the upper floors, the installation of Sheetrock will start on the lower floors. Sandy says her team has been working on this landmark project since last year when their man in Manhattan, Rich Ferrara, started consulting with SOM on the details. She noted that the 2.9M SF tower will have several million SF of drywall. |
