| It's not often that an old building gets knocked down in Cambridge, so we snapped a corner of the old Fogg Art Museum as it bit the dust a few days ago. It's part of a 104k SF historic renovation and 100k SF of new construction that will be the Harvard Art Museum designed by Renzo Piano. The three-year construction project started in January will bring together the collections of the Fogg, Busch-Reisinger, and Arthur M. Sackler museums. A glass-enclosed structure on top will house centers for conservation and study of the collections by scholars and the public. The local architect is Payette, with Skanska as general contractor. |
