| We snapped Division of Capital Asset Management commissioner David Perini (right) after he asked the standing-room-only crowd at the Radisson on Thursday to remember the state building agency when the markets pick up. ?We don't want to just be rainy day friends.? Promises, promises perhaps, but the crowd of builders, developers, and planners were eager to hear the update on the $550M in projects the agency has budgeted for this year and those being planned. For instance, DCAM wants to hire a construction manager for a $95M academic building atUMass Amherst. It's also studying a possible $175M project for the Lowell Trial Court, among several others. The breakfast meeting, hosted by the Massachusetts Building Congress, aimed to outline for the industry how to bid on these state projects. |
