What retirement? Pat Clancy, a longtime leader of Boston-based The Community Builders—a non-profit, mixed-income housing developer—is now partnering with a group clear across the country to devise new ways to develop and redevelop affordable housing. In San Bernardino, Calif., he’s working with National Community Renaissance of California on filling gaps in financing for the $200M redevelopment of the 250-unit Waterman Gardens public housing into 500 units of mixed-income housing. Construction could start next spring on the first 75 units, he says.
