Yes, Northland Residential Corp. is building four condo projects, even in these uncertain times. We spoke with marketing director Elaine Leonard, CEO Jack Dawley, and development director Peter Crabtree who explained that when the recession hit, they continued advertising, adjusted their product to be smaller by a few hundred SF and less costly by about 13%. That enabled them to keep selling in '09 and raise prices this year. It helps to be in prime locationsBelmont, Burlington, and on golf courses in Hingham and Bourne— and targeting 55-plus empty nesters, a demographic more likely to have the wherewithal to purchase. Jack told us, ?We were able to stay in front of the consumer and when their appetite to purchase returned, they came back to us.?
