| We ran into the MFA's Walter ?Budge? Upton last week at the Massachusetts Building Congress gala and learned that he's wrapping up the museum?s $500M expansion and rehab project ($150M for the endowment and $350M for the building). The approximately 200k SF addition designed by Norman Foster + Partners with CBT Architects has 52 new galleries. The MFA also renovated about 65k SF in the old building. Something to figure into your holiday plans is that the opening festivities start Nov. 10th and the city's newest art lovers? haven will open to the public Nov. 20th. |
