Permits Signal Alliance Center Renovations Ready To Begin

Alliance Center stage renovations

The Alliance Center Theatre is getting its ducks in a row for a massive overhaul.

The Woodruff Arts Center filed permits with the City of Atlanta to begin a two-phase renovation project for the theater's first transformation since its construction in 1968. It's part of a planned $100M renovation of Woodruff Arts Center's campus that will start next summer.

While the renovations take place, the Alliance plans to perform its 2017 season in remote locations throughout the city, including the Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, and the Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University. The renovations on the Alliance Theatre are slated to be finished in time for the 2018 seasonits 50th anniversary.
