A division of Lennar is moving forward on a Midtown apartment tower.
Lennar Multifamily Communities is breaking ground on Vireo, a 310-unit high-rise apartment tower at 195 13th St. Vireo, which has been in the works for more than a year, is slated to span 26 stories, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
LMC Division President Chris Cassidy said in an email that Vireo's location, by 13th Street's junction with Juniper Street near Piedmont Park, is in an eclectic part of Atlanta and it is walkable to amenities and businesses along Peachtree Street.
Earlier this year, Lennar secured a 10-year tax abatement incentive from the Development Authority of Fulton County, according to the ABC. That is helping offset Vireo's $105M development price tag. In turn, Lennar is offering 32 of its units as workforce housing.
