All New Apartments for Georgia Tech; Like New Golf Course

Pollack Shores is moving forward on an apartment project contiguous to Georgia Tech. (It's so close that they shouldn't paint anything red and white.)

We chatted with Pollack Shores' Tyler Gaines after his firm filed permits to begin tearing down Georgia Tech Foundation's building that was formerly lab space for the Georgia EPD. In its place, Pollack Shores will make way for a 360-unit apartment complex. Tyler says Pollack Shores is scheduled to close on the five-acre site at 455 14th St within 30 days.

Here's your first glimpse of the Class-A project that is not student housing, despite its proximity to Ga Tech. And plans are stripped down from the original vision in 2012 that involved Sembler developing retail along with the project. No retail now, Tyler says. But Tech's golf course will not only be preserved, but he says Tech is currently attempting to raise money to renovate the course, and it would become an aesthetic for the complex.
