North American Properties Breaks Ground On Affordable Edge

Prolific developer North American Properties has officially started on its affordable Beltline mixed-use apartment project. Called Edge, the 350-unit apartment project will dedicate 30% of the units for affordable workforce housing, development officials stated in a release.

The project on DeKalb Avenue will be mixed with 29K SF of retail, restaurants and loft office and a pedestrian bridge to connect it to the Beltline's Eastside Trail. Edge is expected to open in 2019.

North American Properties has been on a big development kick in Atlanta during this cycle. Aside from the much-vaunted Avalon mixed-use project in Alpharetta, it is in the process of redeveloping Colony Square in Midtown as well as developing a mixed-use project adjacent to the Infinite Energy Arena in Gwinnett County.
