Panattoni Eyeing Massive Flex Project in Gwinnett

In what may be the first development of its kind in years, Panattoni has filed plans with regional watchdogs to develop Broadmoor Business Park, a 1.3M SF project that will consist of warehouse, office and light industrial at the northeast intersection of Buford Drive and Buford Highway near the Mall of Georgia on a site owned by St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co., according to documents filed with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Panattoni's Dayne Pryor was circumspect on the plans, telling us the firm is just seeking entitlements at this point. The project is expected to deliver by 2020, according to docs. Industrial developers have been largely focused on bulk distribution projects in metro Atlanta since emerging from the recession, with flex industrial—especially of this scope—relegated to second gen or older spaces.
