California-based Highridge Provender is picking up where Kroger is leaving off. The investor purchased the three-building Bouldercrest Distribution Center, a 528k SF complex that includes nearly a quarter of freezer warehouse space as well as a truck maintenance facility.
The project has been home for Kroger operations since Johnny Carson retired from The Tonight Show. But Kroger will soon be moving into its new 1M SF refrigerated warehouse at Gillem Logistics Center in Forest Park.
Colliers International's Chris Cummings and Turner Wisehart brokered the sale, and will lease the facility for Highridge. “Cold storage of this size and quality is extremely hard to find in the Southeast, and this asset will generate interest from food companies,” Chris says.
