Atlanta-based InterContinental Hotels Group is expanding its EVEN Hotels brand to Alpharetta.

The company is expected to operate a new location across from the Avalon mixed-use project. It would be IHG's first EVEN-branded hotel in Atlanta, where it will have 125 rooms. The chain currently operates 11 EVEN hotels with another 27 planned, company officials said in a release.

The six-story hotel — an IHG boutique brand geared toward health-conscious guests — will include public workspaces, meeting spaces, a Cork & Kale café and a 1,200 SF IHG-branded Athletic Studio. Each room will have a dedicated workout space with fitness equipment, officials said. Epelboim Development Group will develop and own the Avalon hotel, which is expected to open in 2020.
