ICSC AFTERSHOCKS

With ICSC's RECon officially wrapped, we're still feeling some reverberations as retail news keeps rolling in. With attendance up to about 35,000 this year, ICSC has to be happy. And there's plenty of other cool stuff happening. Read on.
 
Yes, Bisnow was on the ground in Vegas (aka, the Buckhead of the West), where yesterday we caught up   with Shopping Center Group chairman and co-CEO David Birnbrey. He tells us mainstream big-box retailers have resurfaced, and the Circuit City and Linens 'N Things spaces are being filled. He also says Ultimate Electronics is showing an interest in entering Atlanta, and Save-A-Lot and hhgregg may expand here. His prediction for 2010? A good year for store openings. But 2011 and 2012 will be great.
