We Atlantans can appreciate corporate rivalry—Coke versus Pepsi, Home Depot v. Lowe?s, and UPS v. FedEx. That's why we had to watch the Lee Westwood mini-drama unfold this week. Memphis' St. Jude Classic didn't grant Westwood the sponsor?s exemption he needed to play, despite his recent success, including at the Masters. This prompted talking heads to speculate it was because UPS sponsors Westwood and Memphis is FedEx country. Before the story got too big, the golf tournament changed course, and Westwood will play in the June tournament. For controversy's sake, we hope he'll wear an extra-big UPS logo on his shirt.
