Rizzoli Bookstore Is Back

Last year hearts were broken across the city when, after 50 years, the iconic Rizzoli Bookstore shuttered its 57th Street location to make way for a luxury hotel. Today the famed independent bookseller has reopened at a new NoMad location. The 5k SF store at 1133 Broadway channels the grandeur of its predecessor, with the same cherry wood bookcases and iron and brass chandeliers, the New York Daily News reports. The Flatiron site also sports 18-foot ceilings, a skylight and a red pivoting door. Also returning is the bookseller's collection of architecture, photography, interior design and art books. [NYDN]
