Six local real estate guys will ride in the 32nd annual Race Across America, leaving Oceanside, Calif., on June 14, to raise $250k for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Fisher Brothers Winston Fisher (above, left) and Sungate Asset Management’s Chip Marks (above, right) are leading the team, which also includes Fisher Brothers’ Brian Collins and Scott Cohen, architecture firm Janson Goldstein’s Hal Goldstein and Stefan Kusurelis, sports chiropractor Dr. Robert DeStefano (a Giants team doctor), and Ironman technical director Jimmy Riccitello, who is two-time XTERRA world champion and is managing the team.

The team expects to finish the 3,000 miles to Annapolis in six days. The race goes through 12 states and climbs 170,000 feet across both the Rockies and the Appalachian mountains. The fund for which they’re raising money is building nine medical centers, each one 25k SF and $11M, for Iraq and Afghanistan vets with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress. Two centers opened last year at Fort Belvoir in Virginia and Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, a third is expected to open this year at Kentucky’s Fort Campbell, and a fourth will deliver next year at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
