WeWork Takes 78k SF In Metropolitan Tower

WeWork has signed a 78k SF, 16-year lease for five floors in the 18-story Metropolitan Tower office condo (above) at 142 West 57th St.

Paying $70/SF, the co-working giant—which, at last count, had 64,000 users in 83 buildings in 22 cities across seven countries—was repped by JLL’s Peter Riguardi and Alexander Chudnoff, and is slated to move into the space soon, the Commercial Observer reports.

The building's owners—L&L Holding Co, Mitsubishi Corp and GreenOak Real Estate—were repped in-house by L&L’s Andrew Weiner. L&L’s also a tenant of the 1986 building, alongside Och-Ziff Capital Management Group, Capital Z Partners, G2 Investment Group and Hutchin Hill Capital.

WeWork is working toward occupying 111 buildings in 30 cities across 13 countries within the next few years. [CO]
