JLL hired a six-person team responsible for major office and life sciences deals in Chicago away from CBRE in a significant personnel shake-up at the top of the rival brokerages.

JLL brought on CBRE stalwarts Kyle Kamin, Dan Lyne, Jon Milonas, Brandon Green, Abigail McFadyen and Joe Davis, effective immediately. Combined, they worked at CBRE for more than 75 years, according to their LinkedIn profiles.
The team has completed more than 75M SF of transactions valued at more than $50B, JLL said in a release.
“These professionals helped define this city’s commercial landscape over the last several decades and brought an entirely new asset class to Chicagoland,” JLL Vice Chairman Todd Mintz said in a statement. “Their ability to advise both occupiers and developers gives them a perspective few in the market can match.”
Kamin had the longest tenure at CBRE, starting at the brokerage giant in 1999. He represented Google in its 2015 relocation to Fulton Market and in its 2022 purchase of the Thompson Center.
Milonas advised Morningstar on its lease at the Thompson Center late last month, the largest downtown office lease signed this year.
Lyne co-founded 1871, Chicago’s digital startup hub, helped launch the healthcare innovation incubator Matter, and was on the founding team at World Business Chicago. He has been the lead adviser on Trammell Crow’s lab developments throughout the region.
The drivers behind the move were JLL's investment in artificial intelligence, the scope of its integrated project services, and its life sciences and critical facilities platform, the team said in the release.
“Our Chicago clients deserve a firm that answers to Chicago but has an international footprint to extend their work across all borders,” Kamin said. “The technology was the other half of it. JLL's data and analytics platform is unmatched across the industry; it elevates the world-class service we can provide.”
