Twitter is extending its lease at Columbia Property Trust’s Chelsea office property, renewing its space there through 2030.

The social media company leases 215K SF at 249 West 17th St., according to the landlord, after taking space there four years ago. Its original lease was due to expire in 2025, making this new deal a five-year extension.

“We’re delighted that this fully renovated and highly amenitized property, located in Manhattan’s premier neighborhood for leading tech and media companies, will serve as their New York home for years to come,” Columbia Property CEO Nelson Mills said in a release.

Twitter’s New York office is the company’s second-biggest behind its headquarters in San Francisco. The other tenants in the West 17th St. building include a Room & Board Furniture showroom and a FlyWheel Cycle studio.

The landlord's New York City office portfolio includes 315 Park Ave. South, 114 Fifth Ave., 149 Madison Ave., 218 West 18th St. and 229 West 43rd St. It is also developing a project at 799 Broadway, according to the release.

Last month, it agreed to lease the entire office portion of 149 Madison Ave. in NoMad to WeWork, and will work with the coworking company to renovate the building.
