Publisher Signs 90K SF Office Expansion On Fifth Avenue

W.W. Norton & Co. is staying on Fifth Avenue and expanding.

The famed publishing house signed a long-term, 95K SF lease renewal in 500 Fifth Ave. Asking rents in the building, owned by L&B Realty Advisors, range from $68 to $90/SF.

The company is currently spread over 78K SF in the building that it has occupied for more than 40 years. The 17K SF expansion will house the firm's growing number of employees and its electronic publishing service.

In the new lease, the firm will take the entire fifth through eighth floors as well as part of the ninth floor.

A Savills Studley team led by executive vice president Daniel Horowitz, and including Jeffrey Peck, Gary Kerper and Roi Shleifer, represented W.W. Norton while a Cushman & Wakefield team of Harry Blair and Sean Kearns represented the landlord.
