Design Competition for a More Energy-Efficient MetLife Building

New York Office

Metals in Construction magazine is launching a competition to redesign the facade of the Metlife Building at 200 Park Ave to make it more energy efficient. As part of the commitment to the Architecture 2030 challenge, architects and engineers are asked to create a design that preserves the building's architectural significance while reducing its carbon footprint. Submissions will be judged on innovation, energy efficiency and aesthetic integrity. The deadline is Feb. 1, 2016, and the winner will get a $15k cash prize. [NYY]
