Brooklyn's Newest Co-Working Space To Open In Gowanus

Co-working firm The Yard will soon be opening its second Brooklyn location, after signing a 15-year lease for 25k SF at 157 13th St in Gowanus.

The three-story building will be renovated with exposed brick, wood ceilings, ergonomic chairs, a rooftop deck and all the other amenities you’d expect from a self-described “high-end” co-working space, the Commercial Observer reports.

“We’re seeing constant needs for authentic, beautiful and community-driven workspaces in growing neighborhoods nationwide,” Richard Beyda, a co-founder of The Yard, said in a statement. “We want to be able to offer these options to thriving communities outside of the Manhattan epicenter.”

The Yard has five locations in Manhattan and one other Brooklyn location in Williamsburg at 33 Nassau Ave. Back in January, it leased 34k SF at 116 Nassau St in the FiDi, which will become its sixth Manhattan location.

WeWork doesn’t yet have a presence in Gowanus, but fellow co-working rival Cowork|rs has a location there at 68 3rd St. [CO]
