Tishman Speyer's $270M deal with Macy's to buy the top five floors of the retailer's nine-story Fulton Mall store shows that the time may be ripe for property owners to look toward underutilized space on floors above shops in Downtown Brooklyn, according to industry experts. That's 250k SF of opportunity on the upper floors of buildings on Fulton Mall alone, particularly as creative companies are looking for nontraditional office space. [WSJ]
