Co-working is big business in Brooklyn, with various co-working spaces accounting for over 1M SF in the borough and over 500k additional SF in the pipeline.

Brooklyn has over 50 co-working spaces dotting the entire borough, according to a report put together by economic consulting firm Appleseed.

Their rise has been fueled by the tech boom, but as a recent Bisnow piece noted, they're not just for the hoodie generation anymore.

In addition to WeWork, there’s Workaround, which is aimed at parents and provides co-working space as well as childcare services, The Real Deal reports.

There’s also Brooklyn Research, a tech-centric co-working space run out of the repositioned Pfizer Factory in South Williamsburg, in addition to many others.

All in all Brooklyn has another 566k SF of co-working space coming online in the months and years ahead, with WeWork’s 220k SF space at the Brooklyn Navy Yard the biggest of the bunch. [TRD]
